Let's Sabotage Lives with Butterfly Wings

Voici le résultat d'un challenge qui se déroule encore actuellement sur GYBO (principal forum rassemblant les bootleggers) et qui m'a permis de produire les deux premiers morceaux que voilà (j'ai fait le troisième en même temps que le second). J'aime beaucoup ce type de challenge qui me donne l'impression de produire le meilleur de ce qu'il m'est possible de produire. Par contre, j'ai perdu contre l'excellent Sugamotor en quarts de finale dont vous devriez télécharger la dernière compilation, Defected Rock.

Here's the result of the challenge still currently happening on GYBO and allowed me to make the first two mashups I'm posting here (I made the third one at the same moment as the second one). I really like that type of challenge as it gives me the impression to produce the best mashups I can do. However, I lost (in quarter finals) against the brilliant Sugamotor which you should check the latest compilation, Defected Rock.

Another One Bites the Pro (A-side and B-side)

Here are two new mashups mashing Beck with Queen, the kind of idea that popped into my mind and works wonderfully. I first found the idea for the B-side then I decided to produce the negative mix.

Voici deux nouveaux bootlegs mélangeant Beck à Queen, le genre d'idée qui m'est venue toute seule et marche du tonnerre. J'ai d'abord trouvé l'idée de la "face B" puis j'ai décidé de produire le "négatif" qui fonctionne encore mieux je trouve.

April Fool's Boots

Here are two bootlegs which are both kind of a joke, April Fool's day is the perfect time for these two I guess, as I don't usually play with Gaga or Spears. Plus, the MGMT song title was loudly calling for a mashup, I got the idea the first time I heard it. If you're not in the mood, go listen to The Shup as it's a bit more serious globally.

Voici deux bootlegs un peu sur le ton de la blague, parfaits pour un 1er avril donc, vu qu'en général j'évite ce genre de sources. En plus, le titre du morceau de MGMT appelait très fort à faire un mashup et j'ai eu l'idée dès la première fois que je l'ai entendu. Si vous n'êtes pas d'humeur, allez plutôt voir The Shup, un peu plus sérieux que ces deux-là dans son ensemble.

Tomorrow Stylo Comes Freakin' Electric like me

Thanks to my lady who told me a part of this idea. I remade partly the Richard X famous bootleg which later became a very well known Sugababes single only featuring Gorillaz' latest single plus the vocals from Tomorrow Comes Today.

Je remercie ma chérie de m'avoir soufflé une partie de cette idée. J'ai refait en partie le célèbre bootleg de Richard X - qui s'est concrétisé en un des plus gros singles des Sugababes - seulement, j'y ai ajouté le dernier single de Gorillaz et aussi l'acapella de Tomorrow Comes Today.

Seven Nation Mashup

Major Tom into Mashup Storm

J'ignore pourquoi mais récemment, j'ai été aussi feignant qu'on puisse imaginer pour poster mes nouveaux bootlegs. Cette fois, j'ai en plus fait l'effort de fournir des artworks (merci à Sugamotor pour les deux d'entre eux qui ont l'air cool). Mon travail, en général, manque beaucoup d'un côté visuel. Blurvana

A quick mashup and its negative, overused of the overused, let me be the first to mash them in both ways. Obviously, one of the two is better than the other one but they're both worth it. EDIT: the links point to a newer & cleaner version.

Un mashup vite fait et son négatif, des sources usées jusque à la corde mais au moins j'aurai été le premier à le faire dans les deux sens. Il y en a un des deux qui est meilleur que l'autre en toute évidence mais ils valent tous deux le coup. EDIT: les liens pointent vers une nouvelle version de chacun des deux bootlegs.

Mash and Destroy

Sometimes you just need some material you wouldn't dare dreaming of, here a Stooges acapella, to get a sudden flow of inspiration. I decided to decline this acapella into 3 different (violent) moods, modernizing it with QotSA's track especially. I advise not listen to these 3 one after another (check the rest of my post) or you'll get sick of the Stooges song, and if you're not into NIN, don't even listen to Mr. Self Destroy, it's quite obviously the least interesting of the three, though interesting enough to get here.

Parfois il suffit de tomber sur le bon acapella ou instrumental dont on aurait jamais osé rêver (ici un acapella de Search and Destroy des Stooges) pour trouver l'inspiration. J'ai décliné cet acapella dans 3 styles différents (en restant dans un registre plutôt violent), en le remettant au goût du jour avec le morceau de QotSA en particulier. Je vous conseille de ne pas les écouter d'affilée (allez voir les autres bootlegs à la fin du post) ou vous allez vous dégouter de Search and Destroy, et si vous n'êtes pas fan de NIN, pas la peine d'écouter Mr. Self Destroy, c'est clairement le plus faible des trois, bien qu'il soit assez intéressant malgré tout pour figurer ici.
